Bluenose II Wood Ship Kit by Constructo

The Canadian Schooner Bluenose was launched in Nova Scotia in 1921 and was built as a fishing boat to operate in the rough waters off the coast of Newfoundland. Very soon her speed became apparent and she won all the great classic sailing races on the American east coast.

This kit comes complete with a solid wooden hull, sailcloth and paints, as well as all metal and wood fittings, and instructions.

Easy to build for beginning modelers.

Pre-formed solid Ayous wood hull.

Brass parts such as the nails, windlass brake, hinges, nameplate, and chainplates.

Cast iron propeller, anchor, ship's wheel, air shafts and dewatering pumps.

Light and dark gray cotton thread for rigging.

Beige colored cotton cloth for sails.

All wood construction features Ayous, Ramin, Mukaly and Sapelly woods.

Wooden display stand with brass nameplate.

Please note: The manufacturer of this wood kit is based in Spain. Although complete plans and instructions are included, the limited English instructions provided require critical thinking and some modification as needed. This is not a build by numbers kit, and is not for everyone. Additional technique books, and or access to the advice of an experienced wood modeler or wood model club is recommended.
